Today I went biking by myself after work. I went about four miles on the m6 trail. Lots of hills, but my true mistake was not going to work out at the YMCA. The humidity was horrible. There was tremendous pressure on my chest. I could not breathe very well. I even felt like throwing up towards the end. I learned my lesson.
After biking I went to Jessica's house. We were walking down her basements steps and saw the biggest spider ever!!!!!!!!!!!! I freaked out. We tried Cammy's trick with the hairspray, but it did not work. He was still moving. Jessica hit it with a shoe and killed. She then picked it up in a whole bunch of toliet paper. I HATE spiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time to watch PS I love you. I love this movie.

DAY NINETY-THREE - LAST KICKBALL GAME

I had so much energy at work today!! I think I can attribute this to running last night. I think I might have caught the running bug. I never would have thought it was possible. I am not going to say for sure that I am hooked until I finish my training program, but I wanted to run today. I don't run again until this Wednesday.
Tonight was my last kickball game that I could attend. Bowling season is starting and will take up Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday night!! Don't mess with bowling. I had fun tonight playing catcher for the entire game. I was not very good, but I sweated a ton, so I can honestly say that was my favorite part. We lost again, but I think everyone had fun.
Time for bed!!

DAY NINETY-TWO - EXERCISE

I spent the night at my brother's yesterday. We woke up early in the morning so, Allie and I could ride our bikes while he ran 16 miles. We left about 7:15am and made it back at about 10:15am. I think it is totally amazing that someone can run that long. My brother is awesome!!!!
I also had to find time to get my first day of week three for my training program. I borrowed Jessica's treadmill which was awesome. She encouraged me the whole time which I absolutely needed. Grace also gave me some encouraging words :) I walked five minutes for a warm up. Ran ninety seconds, walked ninety seconds, ran THREE minutes, walked three minutes, ran ninety seconds, walked ninety seconds, ran THREE minutes, and finished with a three minute walk. I can not believe I did it. I was so worried about the running the whole three minutes. Today is the first day that I feel like I can complete this program!!

DAY NINETY-ONE - WEIGH-IN #13

I woke up early today to go weigh in at Weight Watchers. I lost 0.6 pounds, so for a total of 26.4. Not too bad considering I ate out twice. Once on Wednesday and once on Thursday.
I went to see Jessica run the 5k Mud Run. It looked like so much fun. I helped Bob watch Molly and Grace. We even got to see Jess fall in the mud pit. I got a picture of her getting up, but not falling. Darn it!! I hope they do it next year. I am so there. Hopefully I can get Jessica to do it again, but this time in costume :)
I went to Zumba from the mud run. I am super bummed because my favorite instructor does not regularly teach the Saturday class!! Instead it's the girl instructor who was hard to follow from my very first Zumba party that I went to. We did have another sub today and it was a guy. He was pretty good. He was extremly happy the entire time. A huge smile on his face. I got a good workout and that is all that matters.
Tonight Allie and I watched our neice Brooke, so Chris and Sarah could get out of the house. She is such a blast. We went for a walk after dinner and this car pulled up. They were looking for a bike shop in Alto. I could not help them because I did not know. Then they wanted to take a picture of Brooke wearing a silly hat. They were on a scavenger hunt. It was real funny. Then we played on the swing and she pushed her cart for a while. Now as I am typing this she has been happily talking to herself for over forty five minutes. She should be sleeping.

DAY NINETY - END OF WEEK TWO

I have finished Week Two Day Three of my training program. It was hard, but I made it. I never ever thought I would try running, but now that I have I am happy about it. I think this is something I could become addicted to if I give it the chance. I am happy that the shin splint problem that I had last week is over. I must be stretching properly.
After work today I went to the park with my friend Jessica, her husband Bob, and her two children Grace and Molly. We had a good time. I enjoyed playing a little bit like a kid again. I even went down the slide!! I made sure there was no liquid on it if you know what I mean:)
Now I am just relaxing on the computer and maybe a movie with my friend.

DAY EIGHTY-NINE - BIRTHDAY

Today is my Dad's actual birthday. The big SIXTY-ONE. We celebrated by going out to eat at Russ's. My Dad got a free dessert which you don't see very often anymore. He chose peanut butter pie. I love hanging out with my family.
My sister made an awesome birthday cake since her first attempt at his birthday treat turned out less than deseriable. I am going to treat myself to a small piece. I figure I have to do Week two - Day three of my training program tomorrow and can afford a little treat. Normally I save a treat for the weekend, but it's not every day you celebrate your father's birthday.

DAY EIGHTY-EIGHT - WHITECAPS

I woke up this morning at 4:15AM. I had to because I had an early morning meeting at work, but still wanted to get my second day of week two of my running program completed. I feel really good every time I complete my run/walk. I just wish that my left foot would cooperate. My PCP is sending me to a podiatrist to see if he can figure out what is wrong. I am going to the same Doctor who completed my foot surgery about ten years ago. Time flies!!
After work my family went to go see a Whitecaps game. My Dad works for Metro and volunteers in the first aid booth, so he receives free game tickets and money for concessions. My brother saw a high school buddy who was there taping the game, so he got to visit with him up in the booth. We had a great time except for Ronald McDonald. I have always been fearful of Ronald ever since I was a child. My brother decided that it would be funny to have him come down and sit next to me. I was freaking out inside. My sister took a couple of picture and I will tell you if looks could kill.

DAY EIGHTY-SEVEN - CAR REPAIRS

Unfortunately my car had to go into the shop for some repairs. I needed new brake pads and roters for the front of my car. So $300 later!!
I am not working out tonight because I have to wake up super early to get to the Y by 5:30AM. I have a meeting at 7:30AM, but still have to stick to my training schedule. It feels weird not going biking tonight. I was going to ride my bike down to Huff park to watch my co-workers play softball, but I did not want to get home too late. I will go watch them in the next couple of weeks.
Sorry so short, but I am going to go get ready for bed.

DAY EIGHTY-SIX - DOCTOR APPOINTMENT

Today I left early from work to go to my yearly physicial. My Doctor was so excited about my weight loss. Since last year I have lost 40.5 pounds!! So Awesome. My blood work was great. No high numbers. The only lab that has not come back is the Vitamin D. They will call me when it comes in because last year I had a deficincy. She wants me to see a podiatrist about my foot hurting during exercise. I am not so sure if I am going to go yet. I want to try my new shoes all the way through this week at least and see what happens.
After I left the Doctor's I went to the Y. I worked out on the elliptical and had a great time. Nothing like a little sweating before kickball. Speaking of kickball we lost again, but we scored four runs. Which was better than last week. My friend Linda from Radiation at Metro came and watched us play. Also, my parents and Allie did as well. Had fun cheering everyone on.

DAY EIGHTY-FIVE - SCAVENGER HUNT
"I can honestly say that dessert was NOT delicious" ~ Grandma Weber about Allie's weight watchers dessert.
I woke up and ran this morning. I had to push myself to finish the full workout. I needed to run ninty seconds and then walk two minutes for a total of twenty minutes. I felt like I was struggling during the running portion's, but I completed it. My shins don't hurt at all, so for that I was thankful. I still had the issue with bottom of my left foot, but it did not seem as bad until about halfway through. Overall I think it went really well and I felt great the rest of the day.
Today Chris, Allie, and I set up a scavenger hunt for our parents anniversay. It was so much fun making up the clues and sending them on their way. We sent them to Creston High School, Civic Theatre, Bigby's, and then finally Lowes. Where they got to pick out a new ceiling fan. They had a blast. My brother then took our parents and our Grandma up in his airplane. They flew over Lake Michigan and back.
After that we ate dinner back at my brother's. Dad opened up his presents because we were also celebrating his birthday today as well. He got this card from my Grandma that had singing cats. Brooke loved and kept playing it over and over. Then we served up Allie's weight watchers brownie pie. I must be honest in saying this was the worst dessert I ever tasted. Not Allie's fault though. My Dad liked it and since it was his birthday that's all that mattered.

DAY EIGHTY-FOUR - WEIGH IN #12

I weighed in today. I lost 1.2 pounds for a total of 25.8 pounds!! I got a 25 pound charm for my weight watchers key chain which I do not have yet. I have not reached my 10 percent, but that should come either next week or the one after that. I also did my measurements today. I lost 1 more inch on my upper arm for a total of 3. I lost 1/2 inch in my waist for a total of 1 inch lost. I lost 3 and 1/2 inches in the hips(which I can attribute to Zumba- all that hip shaking) for a total of 4 and 1/2 inches. I actually gained an inch in my right thigh. Any thoughts on why?
I was so tired after Zumba yesterday that I forgot to let everyone know that I completed day three of week one for my running program yesterday morning. It went really well except for the whole shin hurting, but I iced it at work. After Zumba it felt a whole lot better strangly. Today it does not hurt at all.
After weigh in today I went to Zumba!! I had so much fun. Whoever came up with this type of exercise class was an absolute genius. I love the instructor for Saturday mornings, but I don't think she is the normal one for this class. Oh well, I will see next week and hope I like the other instructor just as much.
My goal for this week is Week two of my running program. I start it tomorrow. I walk a brisk walk for five minutes. Run ninty seconds and walk two minutes for twenty minutes. I am excited to see how well I do.

DAY EIGHTY-THREE - ZUMBA PARTY

Had a great time at zumba tonight!! Jessica and Cammy came with me. If I did not sweat so much or feel it my muscles later in the night I would not even think I was exercising it is so much fun. I recommend it to anyone who loves to dance even a little bit.
I am so excited that it's Friday. I need a couple of days off. I am going to basiclly do nothing this Saturday. At least I hope I can finally have a few moments of downtime to cross stitch. Time is ticking for some of these Christmas presents!!

DAY EIGHTY-TWO - PURE EXHAUSTION

I did not sleep well last night at all!! I didn't actually fall asleep until 2:30AM and then I woke up twice before my alarm rang. This would have to happen on the day that I woke up at 5:15AM!! All I could do to get through the day today was throw myself into my work. I am exhausted.
My shin on my left leg started hurting today, so I need to ice it tonight. I need to be careful. I stretch before I work out, but I think that I am going to stretch longer tomorrow before my workout.
Tomorrow I complete week one day three of my 5k program in the morning and then Zumba party tomorrow night!! I can't wait. I have been looking forward to Zumba all week long.

DAY EIGHTY-ONE - BOWLING BANQUET

I woke up at 5:15AM!!!!! AM!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was fine once I started moving, but man I could have slept a lot longer. I went down to the Y and got to try out my new running shoes. This was Week one Day two of my running program. It went well, but could have gone better. I am still having a pain right below my toes. I am going to try a few more runs in my new shoes and then maybe buy some insoles. I have a Doctor's appointment on Monday, so I thought I would ask her as well.
After work was my summer bowling banquet. It is always a good time. Everyone walks away with a prize and a shot at a flat screen TV. I won a ladder ball game and was really excited. Allie won a patio set, Jessica won a food processor, and Mr. Keena won an electric frying pan. Fun times.

DAY EIGHTY - BIKING

Tonight after work I went biking with my co-worker Roxanne. We left right from our work parking lot and cut into the M6 trail from Byron Center. We then biked to Byron Center the city and stopped at McDonald's. Roxanne got a diet coke and I got a water. Very refreshing. In total we went about 8 miles. It was very fun and relaxing. Except I forgot to wear my sunglasses again and had the fear that a bug would fly into my eye. Luckily that did not happen.
Tomorrow is my second day of my running program. I have to leave my house by 5:45AM to go to the YMCA before work. I am excited to try my new running shoes!!

DAY SEVENTY-NINE - KICKBALL

I went to water exercise class after work today, but could only stay for fifty minutes instead of sixty. Today was our first kickball game and I needed to leave early to get there in time. We did a great abs and arms workout today in class. I can feel it, but I was glad it wasn't a super huge leg work out. Just because of running yesterday and then I knew I would probably have to run a little tonight as well.
I had fun playing kickball, but I am not that good. The bottom picture is of me looking up at the ball that I kicked really high in the air, but not very far in front of me. At least I kicked it. Roxanne and her husband Tom came to watch us and cheer us on. We had one injury and I hope she heals fast.

I went to water exercise class after work today, but could only stay for fifty minutes instead of sixty. Today was our first kickball game and I needed to leave early to get there in time. We did a great abs and arms workout today in class. I can feel it, but I was glad it wasn't a super huge leg work out. Just because of running yesterday and then I knew I would probably have to run a little tonight as well.

DAY SEVENTY-EIGHT - RUNNING

Today was my first day of my running schedule. I am doing the Couch to 5k running program. This week I run three times. I run sixty seconds then walk for ninty seconds for a total of twenty minutes. I did really well and feel like I could have gone longer, but the program is really specific to not jumping ahead. The best thing about this program is if you can't finish a week you can repeat it. You are not supposed to move ahead until you can complete the week. The next day I run will be Wednesday morning.
After working out my family went to Holland to the Carter's outlet store. My cousin baby is turning one on Friday and we went to find presents. They have some really cute stuff and I wanted to spend a lot more than I did, but I was good. After baby shopping we stopped at Gazelles so I could pick up running shoes. I picked out a pretty awesome pair of Brooks shoes. It's neat there because they watch you walk, so they can fit you with the best shoe for you. I can't wait to break them in.
Tomorrow is my works first Kickball game!! Can't wait!!

DAY SEVENTY-SEVEN - WEIGH IN #11

Today I weighed in at Weight Watchers. I lost 3.8 pounds this week for a total of 24.6 pounds total. Big week for me!! I blame the heat. After weigh in I went to Zumba class. I had an absolute blast!! I love this class. You would not even know you were exercising if it were not for all the sweat. I love to dance.
After Zumba my friend Becky picked me up. We were heading to Grand Haven to surprise our friend Stacy for her 30th(I mean 25th) birthday party. We were waiting at the end of the pier with 30 balloons. We ended up meeting Stacy and her husband, Adam, in the middle. It was really neat for her to see us!! We had a blast. We ate dinner at Porto Bello's. Afterward we walked back to the pier and played in the water for a little bit. We got some ice cream on the way back to our cars. I got deer trax baby cone. It was very good. We also caught the very end of the musical fountain. Very fun day!!

DAY SEVENTY-SIX - GOING AWAY

Today I did not work out in the morning like normal. I went to get my blood drawn at the Lemmen-Holton cancer pavillion. I like getting it drawn there because I get to see a whole bunch of my old co-workers. Always fun to catch up.
My sister had surgery today as well. She had it on both hands. She had developed trigger finger on her left thumb and right middle finger. It went well. She is not in any pain right now because of her pain meds!!
I went to a going away party tonight for Jessica's brother in law Jeremy. We had Vitales pizza and yummy homemade red velvet cream cheese frosting cake!!!!!! I did pretty good. I had two peices of pizza and pulled off all of the pepperoni. I also had a very small sliver of cake. It was so good!! I could have had a ton more, but I was good. After all tomorrow is weigh in day.
Tomorrow is Zumba!!!!

DAY SEVENTY-FIVE - PICNIC

Today was Metro's work picnic. It is alway's a good time. They had games, dunk tank, and a ton of food. I wasn't going to go because the office could not go together like last year. I ended up going with my co-worker Annie and had a great time. I did not eat there, but I brought my lunch that I had already packed. I wanted Cotton Candy, but I resisted like a good girl. If weigh in was a little furthur away I would have had some. They also had a horse there with an EPIC sash on. EPIC is Metro's electronic medical record and scheduling system. It was a good time.
After work I went to the downtown Y with the intention of going on the elliptical. When I got there I realized there was a water exercise class that started at 6pm, so I decided to take that instead. I met a women there who takes the class both on Tuesday and Thursday. I asked her about Tuesday's instructor and she said she was pretty good, but Thrusday's instructor was not that good. She also said that for the next couple of month's the two instructor's are going to switch. I asked her what made her not like Thursday's instructor so much and she said it was because of the fact that she likes to socialize with a few people in the class instead of pumping the class up. I am super bummed about that. If it turns out that this instructor is not very good I am going to write a letter to the Y and tell them to audit the class. I will not take a class that I don't benefit from. The instructor for today's class was a sub and she was not too bad. Not Shelly though. At least I was moving for an hour instead of sitting on my butt.

DAY SEVENTY-FOUR - BOWLING

Tonight was bowling night!! The last night acutally. Next week is our banquet and our team has achieved our goal for the season. We had decided that it would be awesome if we did not end up in last place like last summer. Who would have thought bowling 8 pin no-tap would be so hard. Needless to say we are not last. We do not know our exact position, but we won all four points today and is impossible to be last!! Go Team!!
I bought some new fiber cereal today. It is Kelloggs fiber cereal. One is a yogurt berry and the other is cinnamon oats. I can't wait to try them. I need some varity in my cereals!! Once I try one I will let everyone know how they taste.

DAY SEVENTY-THREE - SWEATING

Tonight I went biking with Kim and Joni!! We rode nine miles on this very hot day. We sweated like crazy, but that's a good thing!! I alway's have a good time biking on Tuesday's and will miss it when the snow falls. Although we did talk about getting pedicures once in a while on Tuesday's during the winter. I cannot wait!! My past three days of working out I have sweated so much. I only have two sports bras, but now I feel that I need five!!

DAY SEVENTY-TWO - KICKBALL

Tonight was the first and last practice for kickball. Our first game is next Monday at Lamar Park. I had a good time, but realized I was lacking in some skills. I wish that we could have just one more practice session. Hopefully I will get a little better by the end. We also got our jerseys. I am number 41 and those of you who know me really well know that I HATE odd numbers. I am going to pretend that the one is a zero. Oh well!!
Tomorrow is biking with my co-workers. That should be fun!!
I am super tired and I am going to head to bed!!

DAY SEVENTY-ONE - BIKING

Today I rode my bike while my brother, Chris, ran. He is training to run a marathon. We went around Reed's lake for two hours and ten minutes. I probably went about 12 miles by bike. He convinced me to try and run the last two minutes with him. I made it about a minute total. My legs felt like lead weights after I got off the bike and started to run. I have made the decision to run my first 5k in March. Chris feels that the Irish Jig would be the perfect first race. I know it will be tough, but I will have a lot of time to get the feel of running down. I will start running three times a week starting this up coming weekend. I can do this now that I have set my mind to it.

DAY SEVENTY - WEIGH IN #10

I woke up this morning and went to my weekly Weight Watchers meeting. I lost one pound for a total of 20.8 pounds. My normal meeting leader is still on vacation, so that was kind of a bummer. She is supposed to be next week and I cannot wait. She is very inspiring and funny. She is also very realistic which is what I need.
After my meeting I went to the Wolverine YMCA for Zumba. The normal instructor was back today and I could not have been happier. She has such a great attitude and is so upbeat. She comes out into the class at times to encourage you to work harder. I love that!! I hope she will instruct this class for a long time.
Goal met: Five workouts down - zero to go.
My goal for this week is to journal everyday in my food journal. It's something that I have been lacking on for the past month. Just keeping track of points in my head, but I need to actually see what I am eating.

DAY SIXTY-NINE - EARLY WAKE UP

This morning I woke up early and went to the Y and worked out. I used the elliptical for a half an hour. It equaled to a 2.2 miles. I have been thinking about starting to run. My thought is that I would start in January. This way I will have lost some more weight and I don't have to worry about hurting my joints as much. I am really worried about my knees getting hurt, so I want to be really careful. My true goal is to participate in a mini-triathlon. It would consist of about a half a mile swim, twelve mile bike ride, and a 5k. The only part I am truly worried about is the running. Time will tell.
Tomorrow is ZUMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAY SIXTY-EIGHT - STRIVE

Today after work I went to the Downtown YMCA. I decided that I would workout on the strive machines because it has been awhile since I have done it last. It felt good, but my body could tell it's been a few weeks. I know now that I need to do this every week, sot I can up the amount on the weights.
Tomorrow morning I will be going back to the Downtown YMCA to do some cardio. I cannot wait to workout on the elliptical!! It's definitely time to sweat!!

DAY SIXTY-SEVEN - FIBER

Man!! You would think after a couple of months of eating the amount of fiber that I do I would stop doing this. I have had gas since right after lunch and it sill won't quit!! I had about 16 grams of fiber for lunch, so maybe it's having that much fiber in one sitting.
I just wish it would stop already. At least it's not stinky :)
I am keeping this short tonight because I have to put drops in my ear to try and get the wax out. I had one of my nurses at work look inside because I tried the swim-ear solution and it burned. I almost cried it hurt so bad. She said I had wax build up probably from using a q-tip to get the water out. I trying Debrox and crossing my fingers that it will work.
Tomorrow I will be working out at the YMCA. I have decided against bike riding due to the humidity.
Workout: Two workouts down ~ three to go.

I woke up early this morning, so I could make it vote before work. I was number two voting at my precinct. I have only missed voting in one election since I have been old enough to vote! I think it is the single most important an american citizan can do!!
Work was good, but I developed swimmers ear from my water exercise class on Monday. My head feels foggy and I can barely hear out of my left ear :( After biking with the girls tonight I stopped at walgreens and bought drops to put in my ear. I hope it works because I don't want to have to go to the doctor.
It's pretty late so I will just say good night and sweet dreams to everyone.

DAY SIXTY-FIVE - ABS & ARMS

I just finished the hardest water exercise class that I have ever had. It was such a workout for my abs and arms. I can barely move my arms. It's awesome to feel that way. I know that I worked hard tonight!! I think this might be my last Monday night class. I will be starting my company kickball league very soon and then bowling will start shortly after that.
Tomorrow night is biking night!! Cannot wait. I love spending time with my co-workers outside of work!!

DAY SIXTY-FOUR - MOVIES

Today was a fun hang out with your sister day!! Allie and I ended up going to two movies and ate lunch at Subway in between shows. We saw Toy Story 3 and Grownups. I recommend both movies. I will most defeintly miss the Toy Story series. Grownups was hillarious!!
After the movies we went shopping at Meijer's for some groceries. I have decided to try Special K powder that you put in water. It has a both fiber and protein, Two of the items I am trying to increase daily.
After shopping I came home and was able to cross stitch for a little bit. I can only cross stitch one project when my sister is not around. I have to keep it covered when she is around!!
Tomorrow is water exercise class!! I get to try my new water exercise shoes!! Yea!!!!!!
