"There is no failure except in no longer trying." ~Elbert Hubbard
I originally joined Weight Watchers in 2007 and lost 75 pounds in the year that I attended. I then fell off the wagon when I plateued and could not get past that number on the scale. I started making the same mistakes that had gotten me in trouble the first time. It was so easy to fall back into the same routine, even though it was an unhealthy one.
Today is a new day and I am ready to embrace it. I have officially joined weight watchers once again. This time to hold myself accountable I have started this blog. What I hope to gain out of this blog is support from my family and friends. I know there will be a time on my weight loss journey where I will hit that wall again, but I hope that with all the help I will receive that I can break through this time.
My first short-term goal is to lose 5% of my body weight. I will not post my weight on here yet, but I will post loss/gain numbers. I have started a food diary where I list all the food I eat and what I drink during the day. My second short-term goal is to increase my exercise. Last Tuesday I went biking for 9 miles with some of my co-workers. I plan to continue this for the entire summer and early fall. I also am looking into yoga classes at my local YMCA for resistance training. At the YMCA I plan on doing at least two days of cardio.
If you do choose to follow this blog please feel free to post any comments, suggestions, or just words of encouragement.
Thanks,
Melanie :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for starting this blog. I know it will serve as a challenge to me as well as accountability for you. Let's do this together (even though we're across the country from each other) :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a strong minded person Melanie, and can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. I support you all the way :)

I had a lot of luck dropping 30lb tracking my food and water intake as well as my exercise on sparkpeople.com. Starting back on it now hoping to get my energy back! Good luck to you!
